These local area organizations work to preserve open space, watersheds, nature and wildlife preserves, and promote local recreational opportunities such as trails, canoe access and parklands. Our chapter has worked with all of these organizations on projects such as trail preservation, open space acquisition, trail building, wetlands preservation and promoting public policy that benefits the land or water resource. We also sponsor outings to preserves, trails, rivers and areas these organizations have worked to provide access to, preserve or maintain.

Our chapter supports these groups as an extension of our Fire Tower Challenge project. These organizations work to preserve/maintain fire towers, as well as access and trails to the towers.
